What an incredible week!

What an incredible week! Hank and I are incredibly grateful for all the love and support we have felt from friends and family. We have never felt so loved. Everyone has told me what an amazing experience it is to have a baby but it is still more amazing than I ever imagined. I love watching her every expression, holding her, feeding her and watching my husband and Noni (grandma) hold her.

Sleepyhead wakes up

As Ava's bilirubin drops, she is less and less sleepy... I guess that there are pluses and minuses to everything!

What? Me jaundiced?

Thank you to everyone for their love and support. We have had a tiring couple of days, which of course is the norm. I think we are headed towards a bili-blanket for little Ava; she has a little jaundice and so we've been back and forth to the lab and pediatrician. She is doing well, though... from what I remember as a med student, this is also ridiculously common. At least she isn't as orange as this guy!!

Home from the hospital

Well, we are finally home from the hospital and Debbie feels like she has been let go from prison! It is nice to be home. Grandma and Grandpa Baskin have helped us with a wonderful nursery and for that we are very grateful (Thanks!). Tomorrow we thoughts we'd leave the 'hood (for those of you who know exactly where in Cincinnati we live) and go for Ava's first stroll.

Baby Ava is born!

Ava Baskin was born last night at 7:51 pm! She was 5 pounds, 15 ounces, and beautiful! It was a forceps delivery and the scariest event in my life, but went very smoothly. I am amazed and so proud of Debbie; she is doing very well, exhausted and a little sore, but happy and healthy.

Anxiously waiting

I finish my week of night shifts in 25 minutes... then we are off to the hospital to get Debster induced! So as I write this, I am waiting anxiously to start anxiously waiting for baby to come.
